Sainsbury’s Property Division assisted by PCSG in 2019 successfully migrated 1.5 million documents across 8000 projects from their legacy CDE to their new ‘OneProperty’ Platform as part of their Digital Estate programme. Sainsburys existing platform (BIW) had been in use since 1999 alongside Buzzsaw. Earlier work in the Digital Estate programme saw the implementation of new information standards, the migration of data from Buzzsaw and the rollout of ‘intelligent 2D’ – RetroBIM as presented by Mike on 2018. The last big challenge in this phase of the programme was the replacement of BIW. Sainsburys worked with PCSG, Group BC and its own Digital and Technology team to take on the challenge of moving 20 years of project data. Mike and Mark will share their experience from this project which will include: • Extracting information from the legacy system • Mapping projects to project management system • Retaining the meta data • Migrating the revision stack • Dealing with ‘renditions’ and existing workarounds. • Immediate Benefits • Importance of communications and training
