This presentation introduces a digital Renovation 4.0 toolkit, BIMERR, to support the renovation of the existing building stock by providing key enablers in the most critical steps of the process. Achieved, namely through: enhanced digital models of existing buildings that go beyond geometrical information; Innovative Renovation Decision Support System (RenoDSS) to enable AECO stakeholders to quantitatively evaluate the available options across several key target metrics; and pioneering BIMERR Process, Workflow Modelling and Automation (PWMA) tool-kit to enable digitalisation of process simulation for optimisation across project phases. The integrated BIMERR system will be extensively tested, demonstrated and validated in several buildings, including buildings undergoing renovation activities to verify several aspects of their real-life operations. BIMERR will enforce semantic interoperability among its own tools as well as with third-party ICT tools for seamless BIM creation and information exchange among the AECO community in an effort to boost the rapid adoption of BIM in renovating of the existing EU building stock. The perennial quest for Exergy is to promote energy efficient decision making and we believe such can only be enhanced via digitisation in an industry often berated for its lack of technology adoption.
