Sci-Fi and popular culture have helped shape many a vision for the future of technology. Visionaries such as Iain M Banks, Gene Roddenberry and Stan Lee have sewn rich tapestries depicting what the future may hold. They have given us dreams of being more than we are. Harnessing the tools that surround us to make us stronger, faster, more intelligent. The role of the futurist is critical in order to take these visions and present them in context, focusing not just on the what or the why, but also the how. As we move into a period of previously unheralded technological change, futurists like Ray Kurzweil are presenting more tangible expectations around a technology enabled future. As we move towards the Singularity, an AI enabled society, its critical that we as digital disrupters understand how we are enabling that future. Harnessing technology to enable us to develop superpowered solutions for real world problems. But what does this superpowered future look like for the AEC sector? And what are the real-world AEC use cases where we anticipate to see the greatest disruption.
