So often digital firsts happen in isolation, however at the new build prison at Wellingborough, Kier are pioneering a step-change in digital delivery by pushing the boundaries of BIM Level 2 across multiple threads: Bringing together digital design, data-rich decision making, 4D, 5D, FieldBIM, digital training schemes, site drone capture and a digital-first culture. This talk will focus on the challenges and benefits realised in the digital delivery of a modern prison. Kier have commenced works on-site to deliver the new build resettlement prison at Wellingborough after being awarded the £253m contract by the MoJ under the HMPPS Estates Transformation Programme. Utilising 3D design and offsite manufacture (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) have allowed it to be standardised and replicable across future prisons in the HMPPS Estates Transformation Portfolio.
