Construction and maintenance firms looking to train employees in immersive environments have been put off in the past by the isolating nature of VR headsets. Igloo Vision offers a different way - Shared VR in projection domes or cylinders, allowing for whole teams to be immersed not just in training scenarios but also in Building Information Models. This presentation will explore the tangible benefits seen when an Igloo Shared VR system was installed as part of Lanes Group plc's wider programme of Learning & Development and Health & Safety initiatives. The company saw a 57% reduction in employee attrition, a 9% reduction in employee feelings of unhappiness and a £1 million reduction in recruitment and training costs. The training facility which has an Igloo system installed achieved a net promoter score of 89%. A huge key to success was Lanes’ commitment to integrate Shared VR with a long-term content strategy.
