2018 a place oddity - what’s the status of smart data for smart cities?
Previously, it has been said that there is “No F in Format”
Geospatial Commissioner William Priest tells us: “Digital Built Britain cannot be built on paper foundations.”
It’s clear that there’s a shed load of cash, £80m over 2 years, being pushed towards ensuring that the UK has a geospatial information policy and a sustainable strategy.
Do we as so-called BIMnasts, really understand the importance of geospatial information throughout all stages of the asset life cycle? Is it defined? Does it need work to be successful? We need you to tell us what you do and don’t know, so we can work out the best way to ensure the data is in the right place, right time and right (interoperable) format.
