This talk will focus on augmenting Architecture through Artificial Intelligence (AI). By conducting several case studies, the research will analyse existing AI approaches while developing others to document and restore destructed cities. Building on a studio design approach, developed at the Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL, the research aims at advancing the design process by investigating space flexibility and adaptability through using digital technologies, whilst analysing and displaying information to digitally simulate spaces of the built environment. This would lay the foundation for an artificially intelligent process to utilise big-data and generate spatial calculations through inference from user's given data and inbuilt databases. Thus, not only contributing to previously existing models but also creating an adaptive self-learning design and planning methodology. The talk will end with an application proposal that digitally maps and regenerates destructed buildings, while maintaining their inherit material and moral characters. It includes studies that will be carried out by a collaborative global network of academics and professionals from multi-disciplines to bring an innovative solution to an applied commercial setting.
