In this presentation Dr. David John Gibbs, a BIM and technology expert for global advisory firm HKA, and Ari Isaacs, the CEO of ShapeDo, an emerging technology company, will share experience and expertise on how construction firms can effectively 'buy' innovation. As margins grow tight and the industry becomes more competitive, there is an understanding across the board that innovation is a necessity. However, large construction organizations rarely have the necessary expertise in procuring and implementing innovation. The presentation will cover a number of practical approaches and suggestions regarding the acquisition of innovation and focus on the difference between how large organizations 'buy', and small organizations 'sell'. We will discuss approaches to procuring innovation and how a better understanding of small vendors enables high value cost-effective acquisition and implementation of significant innovation.
