BIM Village
The use of BIM throughout design and pre-construction phases on One Crown Place enabled MACE & IBSECAD to de-risk the project prior to Design release. Mace appointed Ibsecad as Technical Model Managers in April 2016 additionally providing Logistics; Builderswork; DFMA; MEP modelling support and construction expertise. After a truly cooperative and collaborative approach with CBRE, MACE, KPF, AKT11, AECOM - Design Sign off was achieved extremely efficiently during the PCSA period and all the major co-ordination issues had been resolved prior to sub-contractor appointment shaving months off the pre-construction period. The team are now enhancing this work further through the Sub Contractor appointments and the construction phase with inclusion of point cloud verifications and onsite Field BIM activities for all trades as well as investigating Model Handover opportunities for the client. This seminar will focus on the use of BIM to; 1. De-risk the project during design 2. Benefit of producing construction level detail prior to S/C appointment 3. Utilising Laser Scans for site validation
