Construction risk management in the brave new world
17 Oct 2018
Although, the construction industry is always advancing, the rate in which disruptive and incremental innovations are currently transforming the landscape of all phases of construction is probably at its fastest in history. At the same time, risk based approaches in design and construction also gain ground, as they prove to be a sensible basis for decisions across the board for any industrial endeavour. While recently developed innovative tools, techniques, and materials generally aim to the reduction of project and construction risks, an inherent aspect of introducing novel practices is in itself the lack of experience and somae uncertainty in performance. Do we have the tools to deal with such risks? This talk will draw from hands-on experience and the state-of-the-art in construction risk management and it will demonstrate how we can avoid general and application-specific risks along the future of construction as we see it in the Digital Construction Week.
