Building and infrastructure projects start and end with information. From emails to handover documentation, collaboration doesn’t work unless the information is right.  And whether you design, build, or operate buildings and infrastructure, you know you have to do more than get your information right. Information is though never static. Information is also located in multiple places and systems. So extracting value from the huge about of data we are generating is challenging and very time consuming. As a result project efficiency is impacted and reduced profitability results.

Harnessing project value in this digital age should be straight forward. But it is not, with old and much maligned traditional thinking.

In this presentation, Paul Daynes – Regional Director for Newforma, how its customers are breaking the mould of traditional database thinking to create more project value, faster, and for improved outcomes. A case study is provided by Graham Murphy, BIM Manager of Pattern Design, who provides an insight into the design and delivery of Qatar World Cup 2022 stadia projects.
