If we take the stance; BIM is about collaboration and data and IFC is the format to allow that collaboration and data sharing but most importantly being platform independent Then we can focus on how IFC currently work for survey delivery and what hurdles we may need to overcome.

IFC has long been perceived as an 'acceptable' way to export models for visuals and clash detection but has raised the question of can it be used to move and as-built from one design application to another?
Looking at how this works between programmes, how it effects initial setup and modelling techniques, and whether always using 'native' software is the solution.

This session aims to unpack where we have found current difficulties to be, how we can resolve these where appropriate, and showing examples how and where these have been used.
