How the Built Environment Can Benefit from the Growth of the UK Space Sector

18-Oct-2018

The space sector is rapidly advancing. These advancements are bringing those of us here on the ground new insights into how we can reduce the vulnerability of our infrastructure assets and urban environment.

Listen to ground breaking research on how satellite radar data is helping to predict weaknesses in built infrastructure from space, and how we may be able to use digital models to derive value from this data.

In this session we will talk about monitoring real life bridge and building examples using in-situ sensors, environmental data and satellite data, and how simple digital models can bring better value and understanding of ‘big data’ sets to aid better-informed decision making in our industry.

This session will also include insights from the Satellite Applications Catapult on the growth of the UK space sector, and how the construction and infrastructure sectors stand to benefit from this.
