Gary Hibberd is the co-founder of Consultants Like Us, a cybersecurity and information governance consultancy that helps organisations improve security in practical, people-focused ways.

With over 40 years’ experience across public and private sectors, Gary works with organisations in construction, infrastructure, legal, finance and technology to manage cyber risk in highly collaborative, fast-moving environments. In 2025, he received the Outstanding Security Practitioners Association (OSPA) Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising his long-standing contribution to the security profession.

Gary specialises in information security, cybersecurity, data protection and privacy, and has helped organisations of all sizes implement frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act in ways that support delivery rather than slow it down.

Known for translating complex cyber concepts into plain English, Gary focuses on the human and behavioural side of security, helping leaders influence culture, build trust, and reduce risk without adding unnecessary complexity.
