Performance Lead at the Construction Innovation Hub, BRE
Dr Isolda Agustí studied Architecture and specialised in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Building Construction. During her specialisation Master, she worked with the INGRES research group on the study of sustainable certification systems in the construction field. Her work experience also includes collaborations with architectural firms such as Van Schagen Architekten and Venster Architekten. In 2014, she joined ETH Zürich and the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication as PhD researcher and Leader of the research project “Sustainability Assessment”. Her work focused on the environmental, productivity and organisational assessment of digital fabrication in construction and the development of guidelines for its sustainable implementation in construction. As a result, she is author of important scientific publications in the field of digital fabrication and automation in construction. In October 2018, Isolda received an InnovateUK grant from the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB), University of Cambridge to develop a holistic performance assessment framework to promote the adoption of automation in the construction industry. As a result, she has led the research project "From Norm to Swarm: development of a balanced scorecard for evaluating automation in construction" at UCL until July 2019. Recently, she has been appointed as Whole-Life Performance Lead at the Construction Innovation Hub. She will support the mission of the UK government to transform the UK construction sector through digital and advanced manufacturing technologies, boosting productivity, exports and asset performance to benefit society.
