Ollie has been working with CAD software since he was sixteen years old. After extensive work experience in the rail industry, he decided to learn MicroStation in his free time. When he turned eighteen, he started his career as a CAD Draughtsman with Amey on the Core Valley Lines project, later becoming a BIM lead, managing 3D models for multiple route sections on the project. In his current role as BIM Model Manager at Network Rail, Ollie manages 3D modelling, reality data, virtual signal sighting, and multiple other workstreams for the entire Wales and Western region. With 200 miles of railway already 3D modelled to 5mm accuracy, the aspiration is for the entire region to be modelled to the same standard. Ollie is also leading the way with developing new railway visualisation tools, improving safety and decreasing cost for the business.
