Olumide Fasanmi is a PhD researcher at the University of Salford, developing a decision-making framework for pre-demolition audits that reconceptualises buildings as material databanks to support waste reduction and circular economy practices. His research examines data collection procedures, material and product datasets across building life cycles, and decision-making hierarchies for construction and demolition waste management and resource recovery. He holds a Master’s degree in Safety, Health, and Environment from Salford and a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University. He is a member of IOSH, ISEP, IIRSM, and CIWM.
With over a decade of professional experience as a certified HSE specialist, Olumide has advanced quality management, risk management, and occupational safety across construction, aviation, oil and gas, and logistics sectors. His work bridges academia and industry, driving sustainable development through innovative research, practical solutions, and a commitment to environmental stewardship and workforce protection.
