Taiki Takemura studied Mechanical Engineering at Keio University (Tokyo) and Architecture at the Architectural Association School of Architecture (London), earning a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture, and ARB/RIBA Part 2. He worked at TNA Design and The Relational Urbanism before joining Azusa Sekkei and the Azusa Institute of Research.

Since 2015, his research has focused on architectural methodologies that mediate relationships between human communities and regional natural systems. In 2021, he authored The Third Form of Forest for the Earth (original title: 地球第三の森), proposing an urban framework that reconceptualizes cities as integral components of regional natural systems and ecosystem services, grounded in engineering, evolutionary ecology, and earth science. His work has been featured in WIRED Japan (2022). He currently leads research initiatives on future-proof regenerative architecture and smart city systems at the Azusa Institute of Research.
